MicroMove

Modern life changed the way we move.

We work behind screens.
We study at desks.
We travel sitting down.
We relax sitting down.

We've become very good at fitting exercise into our lives.
But what about the time in between?

That's where Robori started.

We call it MicroMovement.
Small, repeatable movement, without leaving what you're doing.

SMALL DOESN'T MEAN NOTHING.

Big movement gets all the attention.
The run. The workout. The 10,000 steps.

But our bodies don't stop being bodies when we sit down.

For most of human life, movement came built into the day.
We walked. Carried. Reached. Lifted.

Then life got easier. The movement went with it.

The desk. The screen. The car. The sofa.

We got very good at sitting still. Our bodies didn't.

Research into sedentary behaviour and NEAT — the movement that happens outside formal exercise — has changed the way scientists think about the rest of the day.

Robori gives that movement somewhere to go.

If sitting is part of life, movement should be part of sitting.

No screen. No charging. No routine to follow.
Pick it up. Move. Keep moving.

THIS ISN'T ABOUT DOING LESS.

Walk. Run. Train. Take the stairs. Go outside. Do it all.

MicroMovement is for the hours those things don't reach.

The meeting.
The deadline.
The lesson.
The train journey.
The film you're absolutely not turning off with twenty minutes left because your watch told you to stand up.

Robori isn't a medical device. It isn't a replacement for exercise. It's simply a way to keep movement within reach in a world where sitting has become the default.

Sitting happens. Movement should too.

WHERE IT STARTED

Something changed. I realised everyone was sitting.
Desks. Trains. Sofas. Screens.

We're brilliant at saving effort.
So brilliant, we designed movement out of the day.

Three years of reading the research said the same thing.
The body runs better in motion. Sit still for hours and parts of it slow down. Move, and they pick back up.

So I asked: how do you keep moving when you have to sit?
Not a walk. Not a standing desk. Something for every seat.

Home prototypes led on to a small group of engineers.
Simple is hard. Small is harder.
Smaller. Heavier. Quieter.
Until it went everywhere I did.
